I find that statement perplexing. Clearly FoamHead *does* care, else
he would not have come to complain about it.

More than that, I believe you have misjudged just what sort of Firebug
user it is that wants the whitelist and blacklist. Suppose for the
sake of argument that Foam is a lightweight Firebug user because
Firebug is merely one of five different sophisticated development
plugins he uses every day, each with its own particularities about
being activated and deactivated. The more each can do to automate
that, the better.

Now, such a dev, having a status bar full of specialized tools working
in concert, is well-described as a hardcore *Firefox* user. But it
does not follow that he is a hardcore *Firebug* user. In fact, it is
this very softcoreness that *requires* that Firebug have whitelists
and blacklists, since someone who uses Firebug exclusively is less
likely to care about having to babysit it.

(Come to think of it, this all suggests a strong use case for a new
Firefox plugin - one that does nothing but handle (de)activation rules
for arbitrary other plugins.)

Anyway. It's not just a few diehard Firebug snobs that need this
feature. Your repeated framing of this as "experienced" or "hardcore"
users vs. "novices" and "lightweights" is simply false.
