I am also on the same page with these requests, but since you aren't
quite understanding them I'll try to explain.

FF 3.5.2 20090729
FB 1.4X.0
OS XP sp3

When Firefox opens, firebug should always be "On".
With the new option you're required to constantly close(minimize/
whatever) the FB window and refresh the web page, and then open FB
again. The old way was easier, every time you opened FB w/ F12 it
opened and was turned On for that page. When you went to another tab,
and hit F12, FB would open and load as On for THAT page.
Now, the FB window shows over each page with the last one you had
showing.

More on that last part.
The most frustrating thing that I've come across is the FireBug window
staying open in every tab. When I open the FB window in Tab1, I don't
want Tab1's FB window to show when I click to Tab2. IF I'm trying to
only edit information for Tab1, I have to then minimize FB in Tab2,
and then reopen it back in Tab1.

Say, for example, I have a local document (maybe it's a word document
I'm viewing in FF, maybe it's another website I'm using for reference
that I need to have the whole screen showing) open in Tab 2, and 'my
website' open in Tab1. I'm exploring the HTML and CSS for Tab1 and
changing/referencing Tab2. I have no need for FB to still display on
Tab2, since I need to be able to view the whole window, but I don't
want to have to reopen FB each time I switch back to Tab1. If I'm also
trying to view a small source from Tab3, I want to have FB remain
closed until I need it. Then when I open FB in Tab3, it will show the
info from Tab3's page, Tab2 will still not have any FB window up, and
Tab1 will still show the FB info for Tab1. Not have to be turning it
on for each window, adding URI's to blacklist or whitelist, not having
to turn different panels and sections on for each page and then re
open and reload FB and the URL everytime I switch between tabs. That's
just way too confusing, frustrating, and time consuming!

The way it used to run was much more convenient. Besides the fact that
the 'Inspect' button doesn't say inspect anymore, which took awhile to
figure out what had changed and what now does what, the state change
and tab memory is making me want to uninstall the new version and try
to use an older version of FB. Being forced to minimize and maximize
the tab in navigation from one to the next is the most frustrating
aspect IMO, and the ONLY saving grace is the fact that it USUALLY
restores the page information exactly to the element it was left on.

Having it act the way it does in the new version should be an option,
working like 1.33 by DEFAULT. I haven't heard or read from anyone
saying that having to open and close, reload and refresh, and enable
or disable every time for every tab is of any benefit or improvement.

Hopefully this is more complete of a description for you since the
previous two attempts to address this problem were far too unclear,
even though I was able to pinpoint these requests as the exact same
issue I have been having.

Thanks!!
