I have the same issue. Have the latest versions of Firefox and Firebug, and have tried reinstalling both several times. Even tried some of the Alpha versions of Firebug and still no luck. Basically the bug is grayed out in the status bar and nothing happens when you click on it. If you go under Tool>Firebug nothing happens as well. Very frustrating since I use this daily. Hope someone has a solution to this.
