My guess would be that another extension or setting in your Firefox
install is causing this effect. We have  lots of users and this kind
of problem has not been reported since Firebug 1.2.

Please install Firebug in a new Firefox profile. That will reduce the
number of extensions and settings. Try it: do you still have the
problem?
