You understood our UI but you chose to ignore the close button when
you wanted to close Firebug on GMail. Perhaps you can see that this
makes it difficult for us to help you.

The GMail information is two years old. I don't understand why you
blame Firebug if Google does not update their page.  Notice how you
got here: you saw the message on Google's page, read their
information, and then you were confused and posted here. If Google's
page had said  "Push the 'disable Firebug for this site' button in the
upper right corner of Firebug", then you would know exactly what to
do.

I wish GMail would fix their page and I've sent requests to that
effect without success.
