Your code is not doing what you want it to do and for you, that is the
problem. Please post the code and state what you want it to do and
what happens in which browsers (and versions).

The "crap" I was referring to was jQuery. Any time I see the use of
jQuery, I consider how to refactor to remove dependency on it,
considering deadline, impact of the change, etc.
