Using keyconfig add-on in Firefox, I have set the single key press of
"i" to bring up the inspector. So what I do in such cases as what you
are facing is instead of pressing F12, then pressing the inspect
button and hovering on the sub menu item, I first hover on the sub
menu item and with the mouse cursor on top of the menu item, simply
press "i" and click.
