I had the exact same issue.  Mine was because Firefox wasn't updating like 
it should have.  I was still back on Firefox 15...and while FireBug's 
plugin site said I was installing 1.11.1, I was actually installing 1.7.3.

After manually downloading Firefox 17.0.1, and updating FireBug, everything 
showed up again.  It's because of issues like this that Chrome is my 
default browser.  ;-)
