This is what I do, I open up FireFox (the latest version available) then using FireBug - whichever version now as 1.11.0b3 still has the same problem, less times but it also happens - I open at least two tabs with different addresses, one is an https poiting to facebook.com, the other is to localhost/ - I select any element with FireBug on both tabs, it all works and continues to work well, no "crash" at all, but then at some point I need to close the firebug inspector and when I click on the X button to close it just won't close, it remains opened forever, the only solution is to close FireFox at that point and then come back manually to each of the both addresses on the two tabs and find the same elements that one wanted to inspect. It really is very annoying and that is why I've come up a few times to this group as besides being annoying makes one loose time. I've been a FireBug user since 2004 and don't recall this happening up until mid year of 2012.
I'm on Windows 8.
