I've tried looking at the profiles - existing one and a new one created
just for this purpose and it's a nightmare. There are dozens of files and
while I can guess at the purpose of some, many are a mystery.

What does seem clear is that if Firebug is updated into an existing profile
this problem occurs if there have been any other add-ons installed. If it's
a new clean profile then it will work correctly until some other extension
is added.

For the moment I have to work with 2 profiles, one with firebug alone for
development purposes and the other with the other extensions for general
browsing. This is not good
