Hello, 
We had similar problems after an update to 4.1. I think that the
update procedure is not correctly implemented or there may be 
problems with different configurations.
We solved the problems with a fresh install of 4.1. And be sure you 
have the latest patches installed.
You can save and restore your config with the cginstall script.
