Folks should be aware that, while that legislation has
been  considered at one time, this type of message
is now a "meme virus" ala good times.

A cursory search of cnn.com, and eff.org reveals
no news of a new bill.

If you receive a "modem tax" note like this, don't forward
it along unless it references a current bill that you have
verified yourself.
