As I pointed out to various parties when this message first hit the list, even
if this had been a real notice about changes in telecommunication law in the
USA, it would not be appropriate for this list. This was done on day one,
away from the list itself, and while there were a few responses, they died off
quickly, and we let it go. No sense in hashing this out in the larger forum.
We like to run this list as loosely as possible, it provides a solid forum for
people discuss firewalls and other security technology. Jumping into every
arguement would be counter-productive, in many ways.
I would like to request that everyone think twice about their postings,
realize that everyone makes mistakes, both in posting and in replying to
posts. Hopefully everyone can design some real intelligence into thier email
and continue to make this a strong forum. However, we will not get into
censorship or dictating the terms of email or postings, that is not our game.
If anyone on this list has a problem with a posting on the list, take it
out-of-band of the list itself, however many thousands of people reading it
don't need to here your complaints. Send email to the author, or the us
([EMAIL PROTECTED]), and we can talk about it away from the list.
Please, any more discussion about this, take it off the list.
