Gary: Welcome to being the first non-supportive reply I've recieved. I'm
sure you can remain steadfast and proud that you've protected so many from
the my evil clutches and the terror which surely would have ensued if
people had been helpful in giving me real or fake firewall logs. As always
I'm completely amazed at how helpful you are to the firewall community as
a whole.

*grins* that said..

If you must know.. it will be open source.. however I haven't wanted to
clog up the firewalls mailing list with the info. The reason for this
being that I have no wants to get anyone excited about something I'm doing
as a test, which has a chance at being vaporware, and which has no backing
from any company which is well known in the field.

I believe the last two of those points will change very shortly. I've
recieved an overwhelmingly warm response from the people that have written
me to ask what the deal is, what I have in mind, and in some cases to ask
that I sign NDA's for release of information.

You'll notice in my previous email that I specified that the firewall info
could be real or not. This is because I *don't care* what the info it
contains is.. all I care about is the format so I can compile it into the
other formats which I already know. There's a specific purpose to this and
hopefully I will be able to give more details soon.

If anyone that reads this has any questions as to what I'm doing you're
welcomed to email me and ask. As before I'd rather not clog up the list
with this discussion. I will be asking for help in the near future,
however I'm trying to go about this in such a way that the people involved
are a fairly small group that can move quickly and get things done.

If you have any further question as to my motives then ask and I would be
happy to provide you with answers.
