Hi all,
Very interesting thread. I have learned good stuff I did not know about NT and that
made me look further into the issues (since I am supposed to be a NT espert). I
believe in good bashing and Brian if you could find some arguments to counter-bash, It
would be even more interesting, I am sure there is more to learn about NT issues. Do
not shy away from bashing Unix, I am here to learn!
One must not under-estimate MS marketing machine, because it has a lot to do with the
popularity of MS. Obviously, NT has its purpose (like keeping me in business) but it
is a system that is harder to sys. admin. (compare let's say NW/NDS) for one and that
includes the shutdown every time you change the color of the background (ok pushing it
but just a little bit) and so on...
So keep up the good thread, I am listening...

Subject: RE: Why not NT?
What's so funny about this whole thread is these guys ranting and raving
about NT being not suitable for Firewall work, but many companies are
happily, and successfully, employing NT Firewalls anyway.
Perhaps what they should really be asking is what do those companies know
about employing an NT-based system that they don't.
Ignorance is not knowing.
Stupidity is the active pursuit of ignorance.
