See, this is exactly why I protest so vehemently about this topic. This
kind of punishment for a port scan only, which I'm presupposing has not
caused a DoS situation, seems completely unwarranted. I'm still talking
about a case where no attack followed, and no damage was done.
The penalty is harsh, where the crime has about the same severity as
rolling through a stop sign or calling someone a name. Does no real
damage. Yet intelligent people still want to see people hang for it.
Makes no sense to me.
