To Hill and Pajak:

Have either one of you ever passed a basic English grammar and spelling test? Neither one of you have ever made mistakes ... ever? Reading through your posts revealed to me that neither one of you have yet mastered even the most basic concepts of sentence structure and use of the English language. Since this forum is communicated in written form, it makes sense that one develop a command of the written word.

Hill, if you are at least a little bit intelligent, why don't you learn how to spell intelligent before using it in a sentence. While you're at it, learn to spell loser, because as a participant in the human race you will need to refer to this word frequently.

Pajak, what is "you see, some of us are just not politically correct and we don't really
care to be ones."? I guess you are correct, there just isn't a nice way to tell someone that they are a stupid idiot!

Now didn't that diatribe help to encourage you to become more educated in the use of the English language? Or does it just piss you off? I hope neither one of have any children. You see, both of you missed an opportunity to help and encourage someone. Instead you allowed pride and selfishness to prevail in your lives. Maybe you do work well with machines, but there is no substitute for friends, family and respect. Try next time to be real leaders and help those in need. Just maybe, someday, you too will require a helping hand or even just a kind word of encouragement.

You said...
It's people like you that make me hate this industry. We are not machines.
We are not computers. We are human beings. We make mistakes. We are
imperfect.
Be nice. There is a nice way to say what you want to say.
I wouldn't have said anything, but I thought I should make you aware of
how you come off to those of us who are on this list who are not arrogant
and inconsiderate. Maybe you can learn something.

I reply..
1) The information is at the tail of every message he got.
2) he chose to subscribe
3) when he chose, the info was there
4) this sort of responce in normal in a very highly technical group
5) the person this was aimed at used a professional title, (and is expected to be able to read)
6) this sort of 'unfriendlyness' is normal to ANY outsider in ANY industry. (try asking questions to a med)
7) If you don't love the tech., live breath and eat the tech., you are in the wrong business, go into sales.
8) DON'T SPAM THE CHANNEL WITH NON-Firewall CHATTER!!
9) If you are in FIREWALL, you are not a human being, you are on call 7x24, you eat SPAM and PING storms, you live to kill the damn packet storms, and you know that everyone in your office just wants to download .megs

I went to school to study 'this industry', so I would know what I was doing. I've been working in 'this industry' since 1980, and I still love every minute that I am away from the lusers, and inside of the machine.  To keep up to date, I have to keep up my studies.  This is one place that I can know what is the lastest features/bugs. I don't feel like wading through FLUFF.  (I did that in my BBS days, and when I tried m$ manuals)

Again, if you are at least a little intellegent, most of the best in 'this industry' will give you the code off their PALMS, just don't ask them to comment it for you.  That is an exercise for the pupil.  But don't ask them to be friendly, they are giving you what they can afford, knowledge.  Go ask a salesman for a pretty pile of words.

of course, Richard Drennan should have sent his message in private, but it was rather amusing.
