You need to determine if it's mail hops or routing hops, you could simply
have a mailer loop (which is what I suspect).
If all of the from addresses are the null sender (<>), then these are for
undeliverable bounce messages, probably due to spam. You'll want to look
pretty closely at your mail server configuration and determine if it's set
up correctly.
If it's router hops, you can generally change the TCP TTL globally on
modern OS', but it's most likely a routing loop if anything is 18 hops
away topologically.
