with a command line interface you do not need to run a GUI (with it's
vunerabilities) on the firewall. Also with a command line interface you
can automate changes.
for example: My place is growing rapidly, every week we need to make 20-30
firewall changes to allow new customers to function. If this has to be
done through a GUI it is slow and error prone, if we had a command line
utility we could write a script and have a much lower chance of making
errors.
a GUI is a nice option to have, I just don't want the GUI to eliminate the
other options.
