Back to my point. Most organizations construct their networks based on the
CIA triangle (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability)..Fine tuning an
organization's network where it displays equal balance in all three takes
quite a bit of time.
Very similiar in tuning the carbs on a Harley. Not to rich, not to lean,
but enough to hear the small gurgle at idle, but also enough when you punch
your hear the gasoline being sucked down into the bowels of the engine, and
power being applied immediately to the big 42" rear tire and leaving a
strip of rubber and a puff of smoke behind you. That is what tuning a
Harley is all about.
But back to building secure networks, one always has to keep an eye on how
lean the network can run and how rich the network can get.
Fault, Capacity, Application, Performance and Security tools should always
be similiar to the tools that a qualified Custom Harley builder uses to
make a loud and obnoxious Hog.. :)
