I was asked to allow HTTP traffic outbound from a web server which is protected by an application proxy firewall. It already has a rule which allows inbound HTTP traffic to it. It does not reside on our protected network. Outbound HTTP is being used for indexing not for browsing. My gut feeling is that this is not a good idea. Unfortunately, I can't think of a technical reason why this is such a bad idea. Does anyone have any thoughts?
