Hello All!
I've got a very small NT network running behind a PIX 520 firewall (running
OS 5.1). I recently added the 3DES crypto package and am trying to
establish a few supervisory VPN connections through the firewall from
WIN98/NT clients.
Basically, I'd like these clients to be able to "see" the NT's behind the
firewall -- scan directories, copy files, etc, using the normal Windows
functionality.
I've reviewed the documentation on the Cisco site and made stabs at it over
the past few days, but I've never got a successful logon. The PIX shows
*some* tunneling activity, ala:
03104: PPTP Tunnel created, tunnel_id is 1, remote_peer_ip is
38.168.115.130
ppp_virtual_interface_id is 1, client_dynamic_ip is 0.0.0.0
username is Unknown, MPPE_key_strength is None
603105: PPTP Tunnel deleted, tunnel_id = 1, remote_peer_ip = 38.168.115.130
but I get an error 691 at the client ("the user name or password is invalid
on the domain").
I'm wondering if any of you out there have had specific experience with PIX
and NT to accomplish this mission, and could share some configuration tips
with me.
Best
Harry
