TSM through a firewall isn't officially supported. The problem is the TSM
client now opens 2 sessions with the server for backup. With the older
ADSM version, people have gotten it to work through a firewall because
there was only one session and the destination port could be fixed. With
TSM, the destination port of the first session can be fixed, but the 2nd
session is totally random.
Search for "firewall" on the ADSM list archives for a lot more information.
The archives cover the newer TSM versions as well:

Hi all;
Does anyone currently run Tivoli (old IBM TSM) backup services through a
packet filtering firewall. We have been trying to achieve this, however it
seems the product randomly picks ports higher than 1024 for it's sessions.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gabe
