Sorry I didn't phrase my question correctly...
How can you tell what Service Pack you are using on Checkpoint
Firewall-1?

Thanks for the help on the other topic, that sounds exactly
right!

Hi.

Nothing stupid about it !

You can know what NT (4.0) service pack you are running by following these
links -

Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > NT Diagnostics - the screen is
simillar to the My Computer (rt click > Properties) & you would see the
Service pack version installed.

You may also see it under your ADD/ Remove Programs List (if the Unistall
Provision for the SP was selected while installing the SP).

All this is reqd if you are not reqd to re-boot your server (I am sure,
someone in this groupd will suggest you to do that !!!) Otherwise, you are
shown the SP version in the blue screen when RAM is verified (the most
dreaded moment while NT boots - or crashes !)

re CP Gateway -
I think if you are installing Firewall on the server that performs as the
GATEWAY for your Network to go to the Internet (or the T1 Link), you need
the Gateway to be installed. The management mdule (alone) would mean the
ADMIN Console, which you anyway need on the gateway machine or may prefer to
have on your normal desktop on the (your - trusted) network on even a WIN-98
PC. Thru' this you can configure & install the access policy.

I hope I am clear (& correct !)
Best Wishes for the New Year to Everybody
