Hi,

I'm (desperately!) trying to configure ssh on a cisco 3620 running IOS
12.1(6) with ipsec feature pack (at the moment I'm running
'c3620-is56i-mz.121-6.bin' but I also tried 'c3620-jo3s56i-mz.121-5.bin'
with the same result).

According to
www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121newft/121t/121t1
/sshv1.htm (I know this doc's only for 7000/12000er series, but AFAIK in the
current IOS tree ssh is supported also on 36er platform) I configured
hostname and domain name. I use local authentication as follows:

aaa new-model
aaa authentication login default local
aaa authentication enable default enable

After creating my rsa keys (which I can successfully verify at via 'sh
crypto key mypubkey rsa') there is no sign of the ssh server being started.
Whenever I try to enter any ssh related command ('ip ssh' parameters or
transport mode or whatever), I get 'unrecognized command'.
Trying to operate with '[command] ?' does not show any sign that ssh is
present at all.
In the process list ('sh tech') I can't see anything ssh related and running
nmap against the router does not show port 22 open.
So... I conclude... ssh server's not running... (or maybe ssh's not present
at all).

But why?

Any hints? Or a better forum than this to ask (I posted it also to ssh
mailing list)?

Thanks in advance &

Regards,

Enno Rey
