i love ipf. it kicks the pants off of many commercial firewalls. when
coupled to a proxy like SOCKS5 it's almost unbeatable. and i love OpenBSD.
just read the code, you'll also fall in love.

that said, i learned ipf from the ipf HowTo:

there is no finer documentation on ipf available. it's also got a great
user community who have posted some great help on the net. google searches
on ipf and, say, PPTP have yielded some great information.
