Well, whatever floats your boat.
I have seen that Linux machines are just as vulnerable. You need to go with what you 
know and are more comfortable with.
Remember there is one thing that we are all forgetting when talking about Firewalls.
And that is, Building and securing a network is all in the mind. You build it in your 
head and you use these devices to deploy it.
If they can't do what you need you find another device.
I dont know how comfortable you are with UNIX but just go with the OS you know most. 
And if you don't know either....a hardware solution may be the best "solution".
