I've stayed at hotels around the country which had CAIS as the high-speed
Internet provider for hotel room access (a charge of$10 a day). You plug
in your laptop's 10BaseT connection into their drop, they give you a
private IP address via DHCP and you fire up a Web browser (they intercept
your web session and redirect it to their internal website where you accept
their TOS and charge). The hotel high-speed Internet access business is
a niche market of theirs.
They are headquartered in DC according to their website : www.cais.net
