Could someone please assist with the following question. I have gone to
several WEB pages including Phone Boy but I am getting different answers
and my WEBTrends is not logging from my firewall.
Question: Can someone post an accurate and technical configuration of
WEBTRENDS 3.2 firewall suite when being used with CheckPoint FW-1 4.1 on an
NT based system?
Configuration:
Our Lab is currently using:
FW-1 firewall Pentium (64 meg) based running NT server 4.0 (sp6). External
interface routable IP, Internal interface non-routable
FW-1 Management station and WEB Trends (256 meg) based server running NT
server 4.0 (sp6). (WEB Trends recommends NT workstation but for economic
reasons cannot fullfill that requirement. Interface is routeble IP.
Configuration attempts to use an unauthenticated LEA connection.
Other questions:
1) CheckPoint OPSEC LEA service gets installed on both firewall and
management station. WEB Trends literature implies to run only on firewall,
is this correct?
2) fwopsec.conf file resides in the c:\winnt\fw1.4.1\conf directory. Is
this correct?
3) fwopec.conf file contains only this line: lea_server port 18184. Is
this correct?
4) Are their any other specific FW-1, WEBTrends or NT tweaks that I need to
know about?
