That was my initial reaction- but the current DJB "software licenses suck"
thing could be an issue, not to mention the "get it from me or go without"
thing if that's still one of his foundations (not that I'm disagreeing
with his ability to control distribution of his own software *or* the
fundamental trusted source model)- in either case I'd be hesitant to use
djbdns in my own distro too, but I wouldn't be hesitant to add application
layer access control to BIND if I chose the poorer (security)
but easier (everything) alternative.  I'm also not sure of the downstream
effects of DJB's "my way is THE way" potential incompatibilities since I
haven't dug into them.  dnscache is on my list of things to play with real
soon now though, because I have a hell of a lot more confidence in DJB's
code than ISC's code.
