It's a delicate balance between having a moderator (which we don't) and
having a list with broader discussion and faster responses. MJR's list is
good, but can be slow when he's off having a life.

Oh yes. A thousand times yes.
Maybe, if we don't want a moderator (which I don't, personally), we could
think about an FAQ? I keep getting the urge to send posts saying "You find
it on Google. Read the FAQ."
