Yup it, does.

The trick here is to run ipchains script after you have obtained the ip
address. You will have to store the IP address to a variable in the script.

As an example:

EXTERNAL_IP=`ifconfig eth0 | grep inet | cut -f 2 -d: | awk '{print $1}'`

That's a backquote.
