When my terminal is too narrow to display my full prompt, fish switches
over to a shorter prompt ">"
I can't find docs on how to customize this short prompt.
I don't know CPP, so it's difficult for me to go into the code to see, but
acking through the project, it looks like it's here

I basically always have multiple panes in my terminal, so it's not uncommon
for my prompt to get shortened, but I'd still like to have some of the
prompt information available, otherwise I feel lost :(
Is there a way for me to customize this? Or should I edit the source and
compile myself or something? (I'm hesitant to do this, pretty sure I could
get it changed and compiled if I spent a few hours, but I have no idea
what's involved with installing it)
