Greetings Peter, Warning: I'm a fish shell newbie, just starting with fish on DragonFlyBSD.
Although I started with fish 2.1.1 (building fish with a patch for BSD supplied by a fish contributor), eventually I built the fish I'm now using from the master branch (so it is a later version than 2.1.1, and has no fishd daemon) .
