The Five7Five Mailing list is now moderated.
You should not be happy about this, as I am
not happy about this, but we have had an
uprise in posts that are not in line with the
lists central theme, which is poetry that
is discovered, not invented.
Posts will be approved if they are conveying
a discovery.
As such, the following text would be accepted:
Children
hiding red leaves
beneath stones.
And this would not be accepted:
I am disposable
you are radioactive
fuck you.
We have had an incredible upswing, as I mentioned,
of writing of the latter sort.
Moderation is censorship. I will not candy coat it.
But the list has become "distracted," and in the
case of a list like this, off topic posts extend
the field of discussion farther and farther away
from what the list is intended for.
I run this list, and I have not enjoyed the list.
If you want to start another list for the "other"
poetry, organize it off list and tell me, and I will
post an announcement here or on one38.org.
I will be harsh at first but I will grow lenient.
If you spend a lot of time calling me a censor and
attacking me, you are stating the obvious and it
will not be approved.
