To paraphrase PE, "It Takes A Former Communist Republic of Spammers To Keep Us Back"
The server running the five7five has been eating some mail lately as a result of anti-spam measures, which has accounted in longer delays between messages being sent and messages arriving- sometimes as long as a week. I want to assure everyone that the list is unmoderated, we are not doing anything secret with your emails, although now that I think of it that might be kind of a fun idea.
But please bear with me while I try to figure out how to balance this list between spam and rapid delivery of emails, which I feel is kind of a huge part of the experience of five7five, being a list almost entirely devoted to immediacy. If I took the spam protection off, we would each recieve about 16 each of "enlarge your penis" or "Amanda Perez Is On MTV! Vote Now!" emails a day, not to mention a rather bizarre spate of spam from almost every former state of the USSR excluding Russia itself. It seems eastern europe is desperately trying to market its products to people who are interested in haiku. If you are bored, feel free to call MTV and tell them you want to cast a negative vote for Amanda Perez for her stupid spam mail marketing campaign that sends one38.org eight emails a day and screws up the five7five mailing list. Let's get five7five to number one on TRL. I know Carson Daly is all about this list but I don't know if he hosts anymore.
