I will not see her anymore
sweet tree

o sweet tree in the morning gray
staring at me with hundred eyes
spoking to me with hundred mouths

She gave me books as birds
She gave me words as mints
melting in my tongue

o tree
I will not see her anymore
she just vanished
as the hours vanishing
and the vanishing days

I will not see her in heavens
because there are no heavens
I will not see her in hell
because she's not here
I will not see her tomorrow
because there is not tomorrow
but today and now
--and today and now she's gone

taller than me
strongly gracious
tree
you shed a dry leave
tell me

When I'll be man enough
to face my tears?
