I tried both the application and the web browser. Using safari gave access to 
more versions obviously but I did end up with intermittent crashes when trying 
to scroll thru too quickly. Probably more of a safari issue than anything else. 
The application isnt free but was cheap (1.99 i think). It is restricted to the 
4.0 version but I did like the search. Very quick. Also useful for lookup 
offline since i sometimes get spotty 3G service in my office.
As said "Every app has its rightful place."

I would try the google docs but I feel paranoid after the last post :)
