Agreed that HW and OS can have a large impact on performance.  These tests were 
run on an average setup consisting of a Linux OS, 32 bit with 2 gigs of RAM.  
CPU was AMD Opteron Dual Quad.

Greater performance results have been attained with a stronger HW setup.
