We are Jon and Mary Ofjord and we live in northern Minnesota. Our farm-North Coast Fjords overlooks lake Superior. We live here with our three Fjords: Sylvi, Gyllen Aften(alias Pookie) and Rokida's Vedas. Sylvi and Vedas are expecting foals this spring. Its great to hear from all you people who love this breed like we do. Does anyone out there have a Fjord with a wavy coat? Pookie, who will be coming two in June has waves on her back, and her tail is also wavy with something akin to dredlocks. Neither her sire or dam have this. There must be a recessive gene in there somewhere. She will be a dark brown dun when she sheds out. She also has a heavy-wide black stripe in her mane, and its very hard to get it to stand up like it should. She sounds like Saskia's Sybren when it comes to following us around. She also likes to help with barn chores, and will tip over the wheelbarrow when we just about have it full! As far as the mosquitos at Blue Earth go, I haven't seen any. We have them all up here - along with black flies! We don't have bots though. Happy Fjording to you all.
