We have a gooseneck 4 horse slant-load and a Golden Carriage Marathon
Carriage. We can take one or two horses in two slant stalls, and take
the partitions out for the other half of the trailer to load the
carriage. If we are transporting 4 horses (i.e., to Libby) we hitch a
utility trailer to the back of the gooseneck and (I) drive a triple.
It's okay on the interstate, and through the states in which we drive to
get to Libby (from Colorado) but I think not allowed on the East coast.
You also have to be within a certain length to be legal on the road. We
also make sure we can get that utility trailer off really fast in an
emergency!

I've seen just about everything. Some folks with two wheeled carts load
the horses first into a stock trailer, then load the two wheeled cart
with shafts sticking out the back, pointing upward, through the openings
in the door. Some dismantle their carts or carriages to fit everything
into the trailer. Most, if they can't afford a trailer that can fit
everything intact, use a bumper pull trailer and put the cart or
carriage in the back of the truck.
