nice catch. that's my bad but i have it fixed now. i just got it working and i simply pass the container movie clip housing my media display component into the sound constructor a la:
var sound_md1:Sound = new Sound( _level0.container_mc1 ); and it's working fine. thank you very much for your help. matt.
