No - we use the same environment for both, and Ant build scripts to install the appropriately built code to the server/client. Or sometimes directly SVN update into the appropriate working directory on the server, depending on the complexity of the project. Personally I think it'd be crazy to seperate the front-end and back-end code into different repositories - it's the same project, you want to be able to version track/bugfix the same project (is that bug in the front end or back end?) and, importantly, you want to be able to branch and tag the same project.
