I recently used an SQLite database on an iPhone/iPad app (now in the App Store) but I was programming with Corona. I had no difficulty with setting up tables and fields from code. I utilized INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE with no problems. I found the program LITA to be immensely helpful in troubleshooting and debugging my SQL statements as I could keep the database open on my screen and quickly track the results of my App. It might be helpful for you to go to the Corona website (www.anscamobile.com) and review their API documentation.
