Showing my age I suppose but when I was Elmered in radio we were told to check frequency & time before operating. Of course we were required to enter those in log too subject to inspection. It was considered good operating practices. I still do it as SOP. Rig controls in software might tell me the frequency but I verify prior to transmit as well. Guess I'm just old school. Maybe real old. :)

More to the point, if the computer's clock is wrong, won't it be wrong for all of the other software that uses it? Why wait until someone runs Fldigi to check the clock?
