Yes they do. I don't think you understand what the function of the macro tag is.

Set up two macro buttons

clrtx:
"1234<CLRTX>5678"

clr2tx:
"12345<CLR2X>6789"

execute each one and either press the T/R before the execution or after. The key is that the macro inserts the "^X" or the "^x" into the transmit text buffer at the position of the tag. Nothing happens until the transmit cursor reaches that point in the text. It does not occur at the time of the macro button press.
