I just did more testing and found that all the fonts in the
UI->Browser "Fonts" selection exhibit this bolding phenomenon,
EXCEPT the "Terminal" font. Also, I verified that the same
regular/bold phenomenon occurs in the View/Hide channels window as
in the Signal Browser window. (WinXP Pro/SP3)

Greetings,
This is more of a question than a bug report (I think).
I have noticed for a long time (perhaps ever since the original
browser was implemented) that some lines of text in the browser
are bold and some are not. I find nothing in the documentation
describing that "feature," have heard no discussion of it, and
find no rational explanation.
Here is a screen shot from just now:

Sometimes the lines begin as regular and enbold at some point
after a while (sometimes before the line starts scrolling, and
sometimes well after), and sometimes they start enbolded from
the beginning (e.g., the line at 14071.11). I have never
observed a line with part bold and part regular. When a line
suddenly enbolds, the whole line enbolds at once.
Can anyone explain this? Is there quality of the received
signal that this is indicating?
I'm running WinXP Pro/SP3, and the font chosen for the RX/TX
text is 12-point Courier New. I tried some other fonts for
RX/TX text, but it made no change to the browser window, just
the main window.
