Yes this slightly confused me a bit, I think the idea is just to test the<!
commands? The only thing i noted is that the<! bit did start the command when
it was reached in the buffer (string?) but only if<TX><RX> is used to start the
process, not sure if this is what is intended.
The <TX> or pressing the T/R button is required because the buffer which
holds the command strings is mirrored by the tx buffer. The next
command in the buffer is processed as each ^! pair is found in the tx
buffer.
