No, the correct license.jar for your FDK version needs to be on the
compilers classpath, it uses license.jar to validate the license key.
If you have a typo in the key, or if the license.jar is not on the
runtime classpath of the compiler, it won't validate the key, but it
silently falls back to "demo" mode with the watermark. It would be
nice if it displayed a warning, but alas they (FDK) do not.

No, the dashes make no difference, the key name does need to be flexbuilder3

The most common causes of the watermark that I know of are typo in the
key or wrong key name, or wrong or missing license.jar on the compiler
classpath.
