I'd be happy to work on submitting an implementation of the abstraction based on GraniteDS instead of Blaze. We're already using Granite in our system, so I'd like to keep it consistent (even at the plugin level). And, frankly, I've had enough issues with every Adobe thing I've ever tried to use that I'd rather use anything else if given a choice. I'm pretty sure I know what parts of Granite to pull out to use a plain socket.
